As the creator of Pogels Wood, Noggin the Nog, The Clangers and Bagpuss, Oliver Postgate holds a special place in many childhoods. He was popular with generations of children who loved both their strangeness and the reassuring warmth of Postgate's voice-overs. He died earlier this week.
Dedicated to Oliver Postgate (and not forgetting Pete Firmin !!!) The video is a live feedback test using the Panasonic MX12 - i've put three edits in there, but the footage was recorded live on 8th December 2008. the soundtrack is "Solartron Forever" by PsychoAcoustic SoundClash which features lyrics in Clanger towards the end of the track. This episode first broadcast 1965.
Wonderful children's animation by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin. This episode was apparently one of several thought to be 'too scary' for a very young audience by BBC executives at the time.
